McKee Media's Maya Walker-Reich Named a 2026 FAVE Awards Finalist

We're proud to share that our Marketing Project & Community Manager, Maya Walker-Reich, has been named a finalist for the 2026 FAVE Awards in the ChangeMaker: For-Profit Leader category, presented by the Austin Young Chamber.

At McKee Media, we help businesses show up consistently, tell their stories with clarity and build communities that drive results. Maya's recognition is a great reminder of why that last piece matters, and a look at the person behind so many of our client relationships.

About the FAVE Awards

Presented by the Austin Young Chamber, the FAVE Awards honor businesses, nonprofits and leaders making a measurable difference across Central Texas. Maya is a finalist for one of only two individual honors, the ChangeMaker: For-Profit Leader award, which recognizes leaders strengthening organizations and communities throughout the region.

Community Is at the Heart of What We Do

Born and raised in New York City, Maya went to college and grad school in Vermont, then moved to Austin after stepping away from her career in teaching. She didn't know what she'd find here, but she knew she needed community. She found it through Austin Women in Technology and Women Communicators of Austin, where she now holds leadership roles helping women build connections, find mentors and navigate career transitions. Her commitment to community extends to Austin's animals, too: she fosters rescue dogs and advocates for greater transparency in the city's shelter system.

That same instinct for bringing people together shapes how Maya manages projects and builds relationships with our clients every day.

How Community Shapes Our Client Work

McKee Media is a boutique social media agency for small and medium-sized businesses, and community sits at the center of how we help them grow. As our Marketing Project & Community Manager, Maya oversees day-to-day client projects, content execution and community engagement. She's the bridge between strategy and execution, making sure every client feels seen, supported and aligned.

The same things that build community offline are what we help our clients do online:

  • Show up consistently. Relationships grow when you keep showing up. Through content planning and creation, we help clients stay visible instead of going quiet for weeks at a time.

  • Tell your story with clarity. The theme of this year's FAVE Awards is "Every FAVE has a story," and the same is true for every business. Brand voice development helps our clients tell theirs in a way that sounds like them.

  • Build a community that drives results. Followers are nice, but people who feel connected to a business are the ones who come back and refer their friends. Community management keeps those conversations going.

We work best with brands that want a creative, collaborative partner, not just someone to schedule posts. We manage the details so our clients can focus on running their businesses.

Celebrate With Us

We're so proud of Maya, and grateful to the Austin Young Chamber for recognizing the people, businesses and organizations shaping Austin's next chapter. Join us in cheering her on at the ceremony.
