Welcoming Maya Walker-Reich to McKee Media

McKee Media is growing, and so is our team. I’m excited to officially welcome Maya Walker-Reich to McKee Media as our Marketing Project & Community Manager.

Meet Maya

Maya is originally from Brooklyn, New York, and moved to Austin, Texas in 2023 after earning both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Special Education from the University of Vermont. Her background in education shows up in everything she does, thoughtful communication, strong listening skills, and an ability to support people through complex processes with clarity and care.

Her move into marketing and project management was an evolution rooted in organization, connection, and creating systems that help people do their best work.

If you’re local to Austin, Texas, there’s a good chance you’ve already crossed paths with her. You’ll often find Maya walking the Lady Bird Lake trail with her dog, discovering new coffee shops, or attending local networking events throughout the city.

What Maya Brings to McKee Media (and Our Clients)

Maya plays a key role in supporting both our internal workflows and our client experience. Her focus is on organization, planning, and follow-through, the things that keep projects moving smoothly and clients feeling supported.

She helps manage timelines, coordinate deliverables, support content execution and scheduling, and ensure communication stays clear and consistent. She also supports community management, engagement, and the behind-the-scenes coordination that allows strategy and storytelling to shine.

For our clients, this means having someone dedicated to the details. Someone making sure projects stay organized, deadlines are met, and nothing gets lost in the shuffle. It’s an added layer of care and consistency that strengthens how we work together and how clients experience McKee Media.

A Shared Commitment to Community

I met Maya through Women Communicators of Austin, an organization that has played a meaningful role in my own professional journey and one I’ve written about often. WCA represents the kind of community I believe in, one built on generosity, collaboration, and women supporting one another’s growth.

Being able to bring someone onto the McKee Media team from within that community feels especially full-circle. Maya also serves on the board of Austin Women in Technology and continues to show up in spaces that prioritize connection, shared purpose, and professional development. That alignment matters here.

Looking Ahead

Adding Maya to the team allows McKee Media to continue growing thoughtfully while staying grounded in what matters most, clear communication, strong relationships, and work that feels intentional on both sides of the screen.

I’m grateful to be working alongside her and excited for the care, organization, and consistency she brings to our clients and our community as we move forward together.
